The Embassy of Belize in Washington, D.C. is responsible for carrying out the foreign policy objectives of the Government of Belize as directed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The major tenets of Belize’s foreign policy are directly linked to our national objectives with regard to sustainable economic and social development, human and national security, the promotion of trade and tourism, environmental sustainability, and the preservation of Belize’s territorial integrity.
An important component of Belize’s external outlook pertains to Belize’s strategic position as the bridge between Central America and the Caribbean, and its foreign policy goal of bringing these two sub-regions closer together in a dynamic and mutually beneficial partnership.
